About CHOOSE 180: 

CHOOSE 180 is dedicated to reshaping systems of injustice and empowering young individuals impacted by those systems. Our organization envisions a future where restorative practices replace traditional prosecution, fostering a community that views youth as possibilities rather than problems. Through our programs, we strive to equip young people with the tools they need to thrive. 

Project Scope: 

CHOOSE 180 is seeking a qualified IT consultant to enhance our technological capabilities and ensure robust security of our digital platforms. This consultant will play a crucial role in upgrading our systems, optimizing our IT infrastructure, and implementing stringent security measures to protect sensitive data. 

This project aligns with our strategic focus on resource generation and managing technology efficiently, ensuring that CHOOSE 180 continues to protect and empower our community effectively. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

1. Security Enhancement 

a. Develop and implement security protocols including encryption, firewalls, and antivirus solutions to safeguard our online platforms. 

b. Assess the current security landscape to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities. 

2. System Optimization 

a. Conduct a thorough review of existing IT systems and processes. b. Recommend and implement improvements such as systems, upgrades, customizations, and automation to increase efficiency. 

c. Leverage existing IT capacitates and device management to enhance operational effectiveness. 

3. Capacity Building

a. Develop training programs and procedures for CHOOSE 180’s designated Privacy Officer and staff to ensure effective use of IT-based solutions, including but not limited to encryptions, HIPAA, FERPA, etc. 

b. Establish policies that promote long-term sustainability and security of IT systems. 

Evaluation Metrics: 

1. Enhanced security measures and reduced cybersecurity risks. 

2. Optimized IT infrastructure leading to increased productivity and collaboration among teams 

Budget: 

The IT Consultant will bill at a rate of $150 per hour, no more than approximately 350 hours ($52,500) for the duration of project (September 2024 - May 2025). Invoices will be submitted monthly, due on the 5th of each month. 

System and Software Budget: $22,500. 

Proposal Submission Process: 

1. Proposals must be submitted electronically to CHOOSE 180’s Executive Director, Nneka Payne at npayne@choose180.org, no later than September 16, 2024. 2. Proposals should be submitted in PDF format and include the following: a. Cover Letter explaining interest
